Producers are looking for either a popular meme or character these days and merely waiting for that opportunity. Just a week has passed since the horror that was the Willy Wonka Experience but, after making Kristy Paterson, the most cursed Oompa Loompa around and all of that being so utterly unimpressive and constantly joked about, the first film inspired by the experience is already in the works.
Enter the Wonka Game
It was only three days ago that Scottish production Kaledonia Pictures suddenly was born, and it has already come up with the film Unknown that is used as a horror sequel to the very same Willy Wonka Experience. One knows this creepy silver-masked character has nothing to do with Roald Dahl’s Wonka or the official adaptations of this beloved character at all.
Of course, this will not be a proper film in any sense. The storyline revolves around an illustrator and his wife who are mourning the loss of their son, Charlie (yes, that Charlie?). Scouting for relief, the couple heads to Scotland only to confront an evil spirit. This film is due towards the end of 2024 where it somewhat gives an idea of what kind of quality one can expect from the film.
Bloody Disgusting talked about this project a while back, about its production house: “We’re so happy that we are about to commence the filming and we can’t wait to give any updates whenever it’s possible. It is quite an order away from the place of experiencing it, and the fact that social media has Glasgow so literally is baffling.” Do you remember that meme in which a guy puts a pineapple on his head and people go wild until a corporation comes out with a pineapple? This is that, but in a world of horror.
