Understanding Taylor’s success is easy when you look at the massive success of The Eras Tour in Argentina, which was her first time performing in that country. She seems to have captivated the younger generation, but no one can deny the popular singer’s influence at all. In a more recent appearance, comedian Adam Sandler brought up Swift’s name during a talk on Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, and went as far as to compare her to The Beatles.
Sandler, best known for his performance in 50 First Dates, also shared his thoughts on some of today’s famous singers. In response, he said, “What I’ve come to understand is that people can be singular superstars, the biggest in the world, and even if they came on the scene five years ago, sure, I am glad I know them, but they do not move me.” But he did point out that Taylor Swift is also one of his most favorite performers.
For me, Swift is invulnerable, maybe her fan incredulity makes me nervous – Adam Sandler
In an interview Adam confessed shyness in the presence of women who were: “Absolutely amazing.” And then he says: “You know what… Taylor Swift. Because of what she means to my daughters – makes me a little nervous.” Cohen also suggested that he would hide his daughters away in a convent if they were exposed to Taylor’s fame: “People compare her to The Beatles. I mean, she has so many hits. Who wouldn’t love a mother like that? My daughters know every word to every song.”
Of course, he understood that not many people reach Swift’s stardom. Sandler, known for his humor, suggested how he would react around someone so famous, “I’d be nervous not wanting to spoil the moment for my kids. You bet your dollar, after a while I’d probably be screaming: ‘Taylor, Taylor, etc”.
