The documentary Frida by Carla Gutiérrez, a Peruvian director, will debut on Prime Video on March 14. This particular work is about a worldwide known Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and investigates the connection of her life and career and some aspects of this story that are hardly known.
The documentary had its premiere earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and earned an award for editing. This video is especially different from other documentaries about the famous artist because it is used as the biography information developed by Hayden Herrera and vast amount of materials surrounding the artist’s life, including people who knew her.
Retained Records of Interviews. A Conversational Report
In a conversation with the newspaper El País, Gutiérrez praised the material gathered for the film and said, “There is a lot of work done around the figure of Frida, but all this material was still without being analyzed by anyone. She is a very educational person no matter how small our little movie got some primary sources that have been sitting in boxes for 50 years.”
“In one such late, THR interviewed Gutiérrez with regards to the directorial work in question. When I learned about the painting where she stands in the center of the United States and Mexico called Self-portrait on the Border, I probably was one of millions of people in the world that adored this girl. I couldn’t do physical cross-stitching.”

The Fictitious Setting
It was in the year 2002 when director Julie Taymor adapted the life of Kahlo in a movie, Frida, with Salma Hayek as the main actor.
This carpenters biography captures the rise and fall of the legendary relationship between Kahlo and her spouse, Diego Rivera.
