It has previously been asserted that the Canadian singer is sometimes aggressive but emotionally fragile. However, this is why just the other weekend, the rapper in question decided to show another side to the public. One that is quite different from his usual persona – altruism and compassion. The rapper during a concert at the T-Mobile Center’s in Kansas City came across a note from a fan who had endured a tragic loss and suffered financial distress and is articulate in expressing his kindness as even the most brash of individuals can be at times.
The fan had a paper in which he mentioned about Drake’s fans and that he lost his mother and now has a father’s mortgage over his parents’ home. It was then, drake who was clearly agitated stated, “I see your mother passed away. Is this the money you owe?” Surprising the fan, he said: “It’s a blessing in disguise. But never mind, I’ll clear all the mortgages off your house. This is $160,000, but I’m going to charge it to my credit card.”
Such remarkable acts of kindness are not new for Drake. Not so long ago he was reported to give a fan $100,000 just for holding a sign saying that she is recently out of chemotherapy. These truly unexpected moments have shed light on the musical artist’s borderline peculiar character and earned him more respect from his loyal fans.
Drake being able to help others in such ways, is quite the opposite of the everyday imaginations about celebrities being self-centered. He reassures us that fame and money aren’t a reason to overlook those who are in need of kindness and to demonstrate altruism instead.
