Dave Grohl has teamed up with the iconic guitar manufacturer Epiphone to launch the new “Dave Grohl DG-335”, a guitar aimed at fans of beautiful instruments. This magnificent guitar is semi-hollow, gorged out in a fascinating electric blue which would remind anyone of the design model Grohl co-designed with Epiphones parent company, Gibson.
The DG-335 features and design plans
In a press communiqué, the manufacturer offered some impressions of the six-string guitar that Grohl had as his primary electric guitar on his musical tours with the Foo Fighters. It comes as part of the “Epiphone Inspired by Custom” range, it features modern upgrades and quality sound output and high-end electronics.
This is a model that combines elements of the legendary ES-335 guitar which has been associated with the greats such as Chuck Berry and BB King and some features from the Trini Lopez model. The DG-335 features:
- Semihollow body made of ply maple and poplar
- Diamond Bound Sound holes
- One piece mahogany neck in elliptical C profile
Where to Buy
The DG-335 is going to be a part of Epiphone’s arsenal which is sure to break records regarding popularity as many Epi fans have fond memories of the original design/sound. We expect it to be available on the Epiphone website at the same time as the rest of the range with the bonus of Grohl’s sig on the hard case that is packed in with all units.
The Latest Tour by Foo Fighters
Moreover, along with the launch of the guitar, Foo Fighters are embarking upon their World tour called “Everything or Nothing at All” starting 1st May in Dallas, Texas. This’s the title of the tour, taken from the chorus of the track ‘Nothing at All’ as said by their latest album, But Here We Are, further showing the sheer brilliance of Grohl in the music world.
This is a great and best news for Grohl fans and of Epiphone, with the release combining both functionality and elegance in the guitar crafted to honor a rock legend.
