José Mota reveals in ‘El hormiguero’ the strange bet he made with Santiago Segura. “He would have lost the 50 euros and, sir, his head”

José Mota graced The Anthill on Monday and filled in the already busy slot once again. Mota who recently appeared in the film-pageant spoke of his new movie, a witty Impersonation prank he does on courtesy and fooling around with his co-actor Santiago Segura.

‘People are simply wowed’

Sayago Ayuso who penned Jos? Mota Presenta, is the comedy midwife to For Your Dead, considering Mota stars together with Jorge Sanz. The message is that a rock band that separated a long time ago is supposed to get together for some reasons. It’s scoring in March 8th.

In the interview, Mota first shared his experience of taking music theory classes and asked whether he studied with anything more than he learned from casual music. He also discussed how he uses the piano to impress people by casually playing it. Looking at their expression, I feel like he is saying:

“If you actually want the assumption about getting stunned, it’s the most important or rather the only fallacy why such people go about playing their instruments. You can’t play to impress them.” For 1.5 years, I used to understand the construction of music space; however, chords were all I got to learn. When I’m within a residence that has a piano, I happen to take four different chords including Hijo de la Luna, turn to the other side and see the four covered chords, brush them and walk away from the piano. It’s so excellent that everybody understands.”

He also described a dramatic story when Segura and he attended a performance in Joséma Yuste with one of the audience telling them a joke first. After seeing this, Mota told Segura that he dare him to make fun of the man.

“There were two of us, and one guy made a fantastic joke about expecting Chris Brown Campbell but getting someone named Pepe instead and asking how would Pepe appear there. I looked at Segura and said: ‘I will give 20 euros and if you pinch his neck saying “Pepe,” he will go away.’ Of course he went away with this money. And for the second time, 50 euros in cash for doing it again.”

The interviewee humorously replied, ‘For fifty bucks, I’ll take his head off!’ That was my final tira, otherwise I would have fought for 50 euros and probably for my head! Santiago, of course, is a fan of victory.”
