Madonna is currently on a tour marking her 40 years in the entertainment industry. The Celebration Tour hailed as “the biggest tour” of her singing career is making her move to a whole lot of countries and this includes South America. It has however turned out true that the Queen of Pop indeed would perform a completely free concert on the Copacabana beach in Brazil on May 4th this year.
The announcement was made using Visit Rio’s Instagram:
“Get ready! The Queen of Pop and her fans will be able to enjoy a free beach concert in Rio de Janeiro on 4th of March – on the Copacabana Beach, with Madonna Returning to Rio de Janeiro. She will leave from Rio de Janeiro for her last leg of The Celebration Tour where she will be celebrating her 40 years as an artist with a what’s expected to be the biggest concert she has ever given. This will be the closing concert for The Celebration Tour. ”
It has been 12 years since Madonna last came to Brazil, which was for an equally entertaining concert in Sao_Paulo, Rio_de_janeiro and Porto_alegre. Although she last visited the city for a concert there was in 2001 where she drew a whopping 120,000 people at the maracana stadium, this was in 1993 when she last hit the City of stars. With this thrilling news, questions are now rising regarding the cancellation of the date and the location of the Latin American leg in Argentina. Well, just wait and let us see.
