Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have confirmed their next studio album, Wild God, which comes after their last, great one Ghosteen. The new album is expected to be released on the 30th of August and its lead song, “Wild God”, can already be listened to at the end of this note.
Unlike many others who turned melancholy whenever reflecting on their past, Nick Cave has prided himself on having joyful memories. One can definitely expect the artist’s most recent work ‘Wild God’ to possess strong emotional textures. Skilfully supported by his longtime collaborator Warren Ellis, Nick describes the release as being in line with the artist’s philosophy– there’s no master plan in constructing an album, it simply reflects their current state of mind. “The records are snapshots in time wrapped up with emotions,” He stated.
When describing the album titled Wild God, Cave claimed: “This record has no jokes. It’s like a sutra– when it arrives, it just does. It creates a spark in you. I think the most appealing quality about how this entire album sounds is its ability to stir emotions in the listener.”
