The much awaited 2024 Oscars festivities will take place on Sunday, March 10, the peak of the 2023-2024 award season. It’s going to be a night filled with extravagance and the added thrill of an earlier start, thanks to the US time change, so we have two great reasons to party.
Oscars 2024 airs on Movistar Plus+ and star from March 10th to March 11th, 2024, the major hosting networks. Turn on the 00:00 exclusive live with red carpet coverage as it is scheduled to start later at 08:30 p.m.
One of the extremities is how in recent years the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and other guild awards have played out and somewhat eliminated the drama so many of the winning nominees at the Oscars have become virtually unmissable for many. Regardless of this, if you wish to wow your friends with your ability to make accurate Oscar predictions then here is some information about some of our favourite nominees from several different fields.

Nominations: American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, Those Who Stay, The Moon Killers, Master, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, Poor Creatures, The Zone of Interest
Prediction: Oppenheimer
Why? After a magnificent showing at the SAG Awards winning Best Ensemble and even after winning the PGA award, Oppenheimer looks to be on a roll. To add to that, with its victories at the Golden Globe and per BAFTA, it is all but guaranteed that it will be the top prize.
Best Director
Nominations: Justin Triet (Anatomy of a Fall), Martin Scorsese (The Moon Killers), Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Creatures), Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest)
Prediction: Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer
Nolan has already scooped the awards from the Directors Guild, BAFTA, and the Golden Globes. It is hardly up for question that he will walk away with the Oscar.
Best Actress
Nominations: Annette Bening (Nyad), Lily Gladstone (The Moon Killers), Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Carey Mulligan (Master), Emma Stone (Poor Creatures)
Prediction: Lily Gladstone (The Moon Killers)
This is a battle and half. Gladstone appears to be slightly ahead after winning the SAG Award although Emma Stone, who was nominated for a BAFTA has made it tough for her. In the end though, Gladstone looks the path for victory.
Best Actor
Nominations – Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Colman Domingo (Rustin), Paul Giamatti (Those Who Remain), Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer), Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction)
Prediction: Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer).
Cillian Murphy has taken home the SAG, BAFTA, and Golden Globe awards leading up. Paul Giamatti can be a challenge but there’s a strong wave of momentum behind Cillian Murphy which is difficult to disregard.

Best Supporting Actor
Nominations: Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction), Robert De Niro (The Moon Killers), and Robert Downey Jr. (Oppenheimer), Ryan Gosling (Barbie), Mark Ruffalo (Poor Creatures)
Prediction Robert dooney Jr., (Oppenheimer).
With Robert Downey has won so many major Awards including SAG, Golden Globe, BAFTA and almost dramatically secured the win of Oscar and all these awards without any competition.
Best Original Screenplay
Nominations: Anatomy of a Fall, Those Who Stay, Master, Secrets of a Scandal, Past Lives
Prediction: Anatomy of a Fall
It is the winner of the Golden Globes and of BAFTAs, and all it needed was a nomination. As the above analysis shows, Anatomy of a Fall could be the foreign film that becomes a part of cinema history alongside Parasite.
Best Adapted Screenplay
Nominations: American Fiction, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Poor Creatures, The Zone of Interest
Prediction: American Fiction
Taking the BAFTA and Independent Spirit Award also gives American Fiction a good run. However, Oppenheimer and Barbie are still in the running.
Best International Film

Prediction: The Zone of Interest
With Glazer’s film winning all major awards, it is not surprising that he is favored for the Oscar.
