Paz Lenchantin has quit her position in the band Pixies after being the band’s bassist for a period of 10 years now. The information has been given through the statement released on the official pages of the band on social media this morning.
Goodbye To Paz Lenchantin
The group also thanked their member for the following achievements during her service time with them:
**“Lenchantin resigned from the band to devote attention to her own ventures. We appreciate the contributions of Paz and wish her success in all future endeavors.”
Originally hailing from Mar del Plata, Lenchantin replaced Kim Shattuck in the year 2014. Over the years, she became an integral part of the group, contributing to three of their studio albums:
Head Carrier (2016)
Beneath the Eyrie (2019)
Doggerel (2022)
Pixies have Announced Emma Richardson as their New Bass Player
Emma Richardson will be the new bassist for the band in order to replace Lenchantin. In an announcement made by the band, it was said that Richardson will be making her debut with Pixies in their opening concert on March 08 in Dublin where the band begins their new tour.
Outlook and Opportunities
Following the end of the year, we expect Richardson to have a very busy calendar indeed because she will be out for the entire 2024 touring with Pixies. Some of the tour yet to come have:
- The UK and the European part of the tour.
- Joint tour with Modest Mouse starting in the end of May and covering the parts of North America.
- In Australia for their shows in November supporting Pearl Jam.
