Some strange trends can be seen within the movies, particularly in Yesmovies when a legacy sequel of a series gets announced. As in there’s not much excitement as there’s usually a hit or miss regarding the movie at the end of the day. Either they entirely fail or redeem the franchise beautifully.
Falcon Crest won millions of fans, but the animated movie Rambo came closest to breaking the mold of the mediocre that most legacy films experienced recently. In terms of structure and picture-making style, it is still one of the best movies made today as it was shot a decade ago.
Mad Max: Fury Road somewhat a sequel and somewhat a remake captured the audience almost three decades after the last movie. Most have labelled it as the best film of the decade – a minute by minute, exciting 120-minute journey of a scale never seen before, pushing the original trilogy starring Mel Gibson even further with its scale and action.
The film has once again proven that there is room for improvement in displaying “controlled chaos.” And the breathtaking explosions, John Seale’s stunning cinematography, incredible moving cuts, and fast-paced nature are just the perfect accessories. All these are complemented with vivid, heavily saturated primary colors and sound design, absolutely irresistible with the powerful score by Junkie XL, superbly created and rarely surpassed within the boundaries of the action picture genre.
Alongside it, the vehement performances by Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in conjunction with contradictions and tensions on set to deliver emotions that translate into characters presented on screen that are too quiet but overflowing with feeling. Their starring in the film also brought Fury Road favorable reviews, and brought in accolades at the Oscar for 6 out of the 10 nominations.
In terms of value Mad Max: Fury Road has also been called such a success, with a global box office of $380 million against an estimated budget of $150-180 million. To everyone who asks how it managed to strike the senses of the audience and movie reviewers alike, the answer will be given during tonight’s air of the film on BeMad channel scheduled for 8:00 PM.
